“Forest Dharma” Screening & Dharma Sharing 2023

June 17, 2023

Phra Pongsak, a monk who practiced most of his monastic life in a forest of Thailand, was awakened to the wisdom of nature. By actualizing the teaching afforded by nature, he learnt never to flinch at times of adversity. His sole ambition was to help all beings attain happiness and be released from suffering, he even sacrificed his own honor to accomplish this. The documentary shows how he lived up to the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism, and how he skilfully dealt with issues of destruction of the water source in order to improve the villagers’ livelihood and rebuild the whole community. This true story inspires urbanites to face and accept adversity; henceforth to gain wisdom and happiness.
